It’s set to be the most public divorce ’bout’ of the year, as Katie Price gets prepared to end an 11-month marriage to her cage fighter husband.
The former glamour model and Alex Reid are in dispute after he refused to sign a financial agreement and move out of their marital home in Surrey, Southern England.
Sources close to Price say she never signed a prenuptial marriage agreement and rumours abound Reid is asking for a £700,000 divorce settlement.
It was thought Reid, 35, asked Price for £1 million originally before upping his demands. His estranged wife is said to have offered him only £250,000 and asked that he walk away from their marriage with dignity, not money. He is quoted as willing to settle for £700,000.
32-year-old Price, who is estimated to be worth £30 million, is reportedly refusing to discuss any financial details until Reid has moved out their shared house.
But the cage fighter is refusing to leave the house after he took legal advice. He is also quoted in the press as wanting to save his marriage.
Reid said, in the Independent: “I want to work on our marriage. Maybe I am an optimist, but I believe in doing the honourable thing.”
The couple married in February 2010 in Las Vegas. Katie has three children from past relationships – Harvey, eight, Junior, five and Princess Tiaamii, three.
